Omad Abdelshakour is a researcher whose work focuses on sustainable development, renewable energy, and community resilience. His research explores how environmental challenges, resource scarcity, and energy access influence livelihoods, particularly in rural and marginalized communities.
Originally from Darfur, Sudan, Omad brings a personal understanding of the complex relationship between environmental change, resource management, and social stability. His work is driven by an interest in how sustainable development can support more resilient, equitable, and peaceful communities.
At the Arava Institute, Omad contributes to research on renewable energy, rural development, and community-centered approaches to sustainability. He is particularly interested in developing practical solutions that expand energy access, strengthen local capacity, and improve environmental resilience in underserved regions.
