Halasah

Dr. Suleiman Halasah holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Jordan, and then worked for the Jordan Valley Authority before coming to the Arava Institute where he was part of the founding team of the Arava Power Company. Suleiman earned a PhD from Ben-Gurion University at Sde Boqer focusing on off-grid water and wastewater systems in the West Bank. During his doctoral studies, he established i.GREENs, an environmental service consulting agency in Jordan, while also serving as associate director of the Center for Transboundary Management at the AIES. Dr. Halasah is Co-Director of the Arava Institute’s Jordan-Israel Center for Community, Environment, and Research (JICCER), which supports the well-being of natural and human systems of the Arava valley through cross-border community initiatives and research. He is currently doing a post doctorate in Oxford University.
