Dr. Jessica
Schäckermann

Dr. Jessica Schäckermann holds a Diploma degree of Biology from the Georg-August University in Göttingen, Germany, and a Dr. rer. nat. from the Leuphana University in Germany. Her Doctoral studies were conducted in cooperation with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where she also completed her postdoctoral research. She has been working as a scientist for the Dead Sea and Arava Science Center and the Agricultural R&D in the Southern Arava since 2018. Her research includes Long Term Socio Ecological Research (LTSER) and Agroecology, and she manages the Arava LTSER platform. Dr. Schäckermann has been a lecturer at the Arava Institute since 2020 and was appointed as Academic Director in August 2021.
